The Technisonic TFM-500 is a dual band frequency agile airborne VHF and UHF FM transceiver intended to provide radio communications on every channel currently available in the VHF/ High and UHF bands. This transceiver operates from 138 to 174 MHz and from 403 to 512 MHz in 2.5 KHz steps providing 12.5 KHz (narrow band) or 25 KHz (wide band) channel spacing on both bands.The TFM-500 synthesized multi-band transceiver can function without restriction on either band and is compatible with existing Technisonic FM transceiver installations.The TFM-500 can be operated as a single FM installation enabling operation on either band through a single audio controller FM input, or it can be installed as FM1 and FM2 allowing for simultaneous operation in both bands.The TFM-500 can also function as a cross band repeater and offers 400 memory positions (200 per band) each of which is capable of storing a transmit frequency, a receive frequency, a separate CTCSS tone and/or a DPL/DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) code for each transmit and receive frequency, and a nine character alpha numeric identifier for each channel. The TFM-500 transceiver weighs just 5.1 lbs., is Dzus mounted and is completely self contained (no remote transceiver).
